Our method
Evidence has a scope.
Our labels should too.
A merchant instruction is not a checkout test. A cart discount is not a completed purchase. We keep those distinctions visible.
Three separate questions
- Availability
- Does current evidence support this offer for the stated audience? We distinguish active, uncertain, expired and withdrawn offers.
- Terms evidence
- Do current merchant or authorized partner terms support the specific code and restrictions? General instructions do not confirm every partner offer.
- Checkout result
- Was the stated benefit observed before payment in a documented context? A complete human test records the product, market, account eligibility, date and result.
Publisher-confirmed code and benefit
A dated, explicit publisher confirmation can establish the stated code and discount. We label this Publisher-confirmed code and keep its confirmation date and evidence record. This does not imply confirmed eligibility for every account, published official terms, a complete checkout test or a network-performance result. Those have separate records.
What a complete test records
We need the exact code, product and currency; relevant account conditions; discount before payment; the real date and time zone; and an accountable tester. Screenshots require context and must omit private account or payment data before publication.
What a failed test means
A failure in one context does not prove global expiration. Conflicting evidence requires review. We do not silently retain an active claim while ignoring a contradictory result for the same eligibility conditions.
Freshness and unknowns
We retain actual source-check and checkout-test dates separately. A rebuild does not refresh them. Missing dates remain missing. An overdue offer needs rechecking; we remove unsupported active recommendations rather than presenting old evidence as current.
One standard across merchants
Each merchant has its own evidence record. The same principles apply to checkout discounts, referral rewards, spending credit and fee reductions: identify the benefit, confirm the conditions and explain the scope. Browse the merchant directory for individual records.
